The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Ripple Labs on December 22, 2020. In this case, it was claimed that Ripple sold “unregistered securities”, namely XRP, to get $1.3 billion. As the trial nears its end, victory seems to lean towards Ripple. The SEC has filed charges against Christian Larsen, co-founder of Ripple, and Brad Garlinghouse, its CEO, alleging they received $600 million in personal benefits from the company.
The market watchdog stated that XRP should not be considered a cryptocurrency but a security that should fall under its regulatory jurisdiction.
A ruling in favour of the SEC would create an unfavourable legal standard for the crypto industry as a whole. For this reason, critical players in the sector closely follow this case.
It is clear that the twists and turns of the trial directly affect the price of XRP. In 2020, XRP saw a drop of nearly 25% once news of the trial broke. The court granted access to the SEC’s internal records in April 2021, giving Ripple a modest victory and pushing XRP beyond the $1 barrier, which the cryptocurrency had not exceeded in three years.

Ripple (XRP) Price Prediction in 2025
By the end of 2022, Changelly predicted an average price of $0.47 for XRP. I changed the specified range for XRP in 2025 from $1.47 to $1.76 maximum.
A panel of 36 industry professionals surveyed by Finder concluded that the price of XRP is expected to reach $3.61 in 2025.
Some believe that by 2025, the cryptocurrency will still need to reach the $1 mark.
Keegan Francis, the pessimistic editor of Finder’s cryptocurrency section, disagrees with the experts’ assessment. By the end of 2025, he predicts that the price of XRP will be $0.50, and against all expectations, it will be worth only $0.10 in 2030.

The estimate provided by Finder’s experts was relatively high for XRP in 2030. They predict that the cryptocurrency will reach $4.98.
According to information published on the Nasdaq website, the average prediction for 2030 is around $18.39.
